image textures a single file. They will work as if they were a ZIP file that

has multiple files inside.

Info: An external file that has a path starting with "// "has a relative path

and will most likely come from the same folder of your project file.

After using that option, you won't have to worry about external files

anymore because all textures are now part of your project file. However,

it may significantly increase the size of your project file. If you have a

project file with 1MB in size and 300MB of textures, the new project file

size will be 301MB.

As a way to automate the packing of external data, you can enable the

"Automatically Pack All Into .blend." Use the "Unpack All Into Files" to

extract the files to your project folder.

There is also an option to unpack texture files right next to the image

filename individually. At the Image Texture Node, you will see a button

called Unpack Item (Figure 5.26).
